Juvederm Q & A
What is Juvéderm?
The team at SINY® Dermatology offers a variety of injectable facial filler options, including the Juvéderm collection of hyaluronic acid fillers. Juvéderm fillers restore lost tissue volume beneath your skin that may have decreased with age. This decrease in tissue can cause your skin to appear droopy or create deep wrinkles and folds.
Juvéderm products include:
- Vollure™ XC to smooth parentheses lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth
- Voluma® XC to add volume to your cheek area
- Volbella® XC to add volume to your lips and reduce the appearance of lip lines
- Ultra XC to plump your lips and smooth moderate to severe parentheses lines
Juvéderm uses hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in your body that promotes structure, softness, and hydration in your skin.
What skin problems can Juvéderm treat?
The team at SINY® Dermatology uses Juvéderm to treat the following common concerns:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines or parentheses lines around your mouth
- Pucker lines around your mouth
- Thin or unevenly shaped lips
- Sunken cheeks
- Poorly defined chin or jawline
- Facial wrinkles, depressions, and lines
- Sunken eyes
- Unevenly shaped earlobes
Who is a good candidate for Juvéderm fillers?
If you want to reduce the appearance of any of the above skin concerns, you may want to consider Juvéderm fillers. The best way to find out if Juvéderm is right for you is to discuss your aesthetic goals with the team at SINY® Dermatology.
If Juvéderm isn’t the right choice, they may recommend another treatment, such as Botox®, Dysport®, or a different type of injection.
What should I expect from a Juvéderm treatment?
First, the team at SINY® Dermatology evaluates your skin and reviews your medical history to ensure Juvéderm is right for you. Then, they work with you to create a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific concerns.
The treatment typically lasts 15-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Juvéderm XC injections contain pain-reducing lidocaine to enhance your comfort. If you’re concerned about pain, your doctor at SINY® Dermatology may apply a topical cream or ice to numb your skin during the injections.
Afterward, you may notice some redness or swelling in the injection site, but this fades over a few hours or days. Juvéderm fillers produce immediate results that last one to two years, depending on the formula.
